Group Long Term Disability

Disability Insurance is one of the most important things that you can do to protect yourself & your family.

DISABILITY STATISTICS:

  • 3 in 10 workers entering the workforce today will become disabled for some period before they retire
  • More than 90 percent of disabling accidents and illnesses are not work-related, which means they aren’t covered by worker’s compensation insurance
  • Most Americans don’t have enough savings to meet short-term emergencies
  • Nearly 60 percent of workers have not discussed with their families how they would handle or manage an income-limiting disability

ELIGIBILITY

All BenefitLink Associates and their staff who work 30 or more hours per week can participate.

Benefit level qualification based on 60% of your gross income generated.

PLAN FEATURES:

  • Group policy provided through Lincoln Financial Group (A+ RATED)
  • Waiting Period – Only 180 days
  • Maximum Benefit Periods – Age 65+ extends up to age 69 (see chart below)
  • 60% of pre-disability earnings with a 3-class benefit level
  • Pre-disability earnings are salary and gross sales commissions.
  • Partial disability includes automatic indexing of pre-disability earnings to help offset inflation
  • A return-to-work incentive for partially disabled associates is included
  • Benefit payment requires participation in a rehabilitation program approved by standard unless a disability prevents participation
  • This plan provides a 2-year owner-occupation unless otherwise indicated. Partial disability, zero-day residual and 60% income protection are included
  • A 6/24 preexisting condition exclusion applies
  • 3-month survivor income benefit
  • All Securities, Non-Securities Commissions and Salary Included
  • All associates will need to review their current coverage and update their income annually by filling out the update form on the ASP website.
  • Prior to choosing an income level you must have the qualifying income to secure the benefit amount. The $2500 monthly benefit you need a minimum of $4100+ monthly; $5000 needs $7933+ monthly; and $10,000 needs a minimum of $16,667 monthly.
